LOFT Community News (CNews)

Published 10 times a year, LOFT Community News runs articles, ads, press releases, reviews, and previews of interest to the gay and lesbian community. In addition, CNews runs ads from local business as well as classifieds from individuals seeking roommates, offering items for sale, etc. A comprehensive monthly calendar of LOFT events is also featured. The LOFT and CNews encourage all readers to submit articles, letters, classified ads, reviews of books, movies, etc., short works of fiction—any material related to gay and lesbian issues. Got something to say? Then send it on in!

Newsletter meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at The LOFT, unless otherwise noted in CNews.

Deadlines for all materials is the first of the month prior to the upcoming issue (i.e., March 1 for the April newsletter).

You can always pick up a copy of CNews at The LOFT. In addition, the CNews can be found in several of the local bars and clubs in Westchester and Rockland Counties. We can also put you on our mailing list. Simply call our Helpline, send us a FAX, or e-mail us with your mailing information.

Advertising

As with articles, you can drop off your advertising at The LOFT, or you can FAX or e-mail us your material (please do not FAX camera-ready art). You may supply your materials as manuscript (which we will typeset/design as best we can per your specifications) or camera-ready.
Deadlines: you must reserve space by the first of the month; camera-ready art is due by the fifth of the month. If you need specific information about advertising, call our Helpline or e-mail ads@loftgaycenter.org.

So What's It Going to Cost?

Not very much, considering CNews reaches more than 1500 households per month via our mailing list and is also available at many local establishments throughout Westchester and Rockland Counties. Below are our current advertising rates:

Business Directory: $35 per month or annual rate (10 issues) for $25 for 3-line listing ($10 each additional line). Directory listing is free for Business Members.

Classified Ad: $25 per 30-word ad ($5 each additional 5 words).

Non-Profit Organizations: 10% discount.

All ads are payable in advance. No exceptions. If camera-ready art is not delivered by due date, you will be charged for the reserved space. When possible, please supply materials electronically with hardcopy reference (Macintosh-based programs with all fonts/art files are preferred). If necessary, your ad can be designed by us: simply supply us electronic copy and we will be happy to layout your ad at the desired dimensions.
