The LOFT Lending Library
The
Library collects literature of interest to the GLBT community,
biographies, magazines, travel guides, and legal books, in addition
to videos of gay-related movies and documentaries.
The
Library is staffed on most week nights from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
To
join the committee, or for any other information about the library,
call The LOFT office at (914) 948-2932, or call Library Chairman, Bob Knight, at work at (914) 364-3560
or at home (914) 268-3012.
How To Use The LOFT Lending Library
Using
the library is as easy as using your own local public library.
All borrowers are issued a library card, good for one year. If
you are a LOFT member, the library card is free, and runs concurrently
with your membership. If youre not yet a member, you can
purchase a library card for $10, which gives you free use of the
facility for the whole year, and all of its privileges, including
borrowing.
For
those concerned with confidentiality, your library card has a
sequential number on it, and only that number is recorded in library
files, and in the title card kept in the book jacket. Thus someone
browsing the shelves and examining a certain book will only find
a card in it with the numbers of previous borrowers, say 24, 98
and 127.
