2017 LGBTQ Advocacy Day in Albany

Join us Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, in Albany, New York, at the Cornerstone Restaurant at the Empire State Plaza as we advocate for LGBTQ New Yorkers. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We will be meeting with representatives to make it clear that New Yorkers demand justice and equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people throughout the state.

We will be educating our representatives on:

  • Banning the abusive practice of “conversion therapy”
  • Protecting more Trans and Gender Non-conforming people by passing GENDA, the Gender Identity Non-Discrimination Act
  • Securing LGBTQ families and protecting children by passing the Child Parent Security Act

This advocacy day is sponsored and organized by organizations around the state. Equality New York is proud to work with so many committed individuals and groups, and is especially grateful to NYSUT for taking the lead in organizing.

Travel Information from The LOFT:

The bus will be leaving at 6:45 am SHARP!  Plan to arrive by 6:30am.  Cars can be left in the parking lot all day.

The cost to ride the bus is $30 but the cost should not keep anyone from attending.  We would rather fill a seat than have it sit empty!

During the bus ride, information will be given out on the issues we are advocating for and tips on meeting with elected officials.

Plan to arrive back to The LOFT around 6:30/7pm.
