What is
Reiki
Reiki (ray-kay) is an ancient healing art rediscovered in
Japan in the late 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is a Japanese word for the concept of
"universal life force energy" and can be learned by anyone.
Through several attunements (initiations) comes a reawakening - a
reopening - of the healing channel which is within all of us.
Reiki
can relieve pain and acute problems quite rapidly. Chronic illnesses may take
a number of treatments depending on the specific nature of the disease.
Whatever manifests itself physically usually has an
emotional, mental or spiritual component. Reiki honors the ecology
of the body by working on all of these levels. Only in this way can an
individual truly be healed.
