The LOFT Benefit Gala continues to grow each year, and because of this, we've moved to the roomy and luxurious ballroom at the Crowne Plaza White Plains.
Gala Theme for 2012
This year’s LOFT Benefit Gala will focus on the various successes we've made over the past year and a half in winning equality for the LGBT Community. From the passage of the Dignity for All Students Act, to Marriage Equality here in New York, to the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, The LOFT has been an advocacy center, supplying space, phones, and phone bank volunteers that subsequently changed hearts and minds, and a successful vote in Albany.
Our petition drives have garnered thousands of signatures that led to changes that protect students from bullying, offer protections to same-sex couples, and allow our community's brave service members to serve openly. However, we will also highlight the work that still needs to be done in passing the Gender Equality Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), and the repeal of the Federal "Defense of Marriage" Act. The LOFT will be there, again, as a center of advocacy and effort.
