LOFT Honorees and Awards

Annually, The LOFT bestows awards to members of the community, both LGBT and allied, who have gone above the call of duty in promoting acceptance, securing equality, and making life easier for the LGBT community.

This year's awards include the newly created Edie Windsor Social Justice Award, and the LOFT Community Activist Award.

Edie Windsor Equality Award - 2012
This year, The LOFT has decided to create a new award, in the Edie Windsor Social Justice Award, which for the first issuance, is conferred to Ms. Windsor herself. This award will be presented annually to an honoree(s) who emulates Edie Windsor's tenacity, courage, and mettle in fighting social injustice.

LOFT Community Activist Award - Michael Turner
The LOFT Community Activist Award is presented annually to a member of the community who has demonstrated marked involvement and activism, often going beyond the call of duty in advocacy and activism towards the achievement of equality for the LGBT community. This year's Community Activist Award is present to LOFT member Michael Turner.
