Accountable Leadership


Workshop Description: In this workshop we will discuss what accountable leadership is, what it looks like, and how it will benefit your organization or professional practice. We will discuss topics like: How do you make decisions about TGNCNB programming and policies?, Do you have TGNCNB people in positions of leadership within your organization?, Do you connect with your local TGNCNB communities?, Do you engage with national Transgender/Non-Binary-led organizations and conversations?


Workshop Format: In this workshop we will discuss what accountability means through an anti-oppression, social justice lens. We will share  successes and failures of accountable leadership relevant to both cisgender and Trans/Non-Binary leaders.


About the Rockland County Pride Center: The Rockland County Pride Center is a 501(c)(3) LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) organization with an anti-racist, social justice mission. Our purpose is to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, challenge stereotypes and practices that adversely impact Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people, and provide a wide range of services to ensure equitable resources and opportunities for all – with no exceptions.


Bios:

Diana Wilkins is Director of Client Services at the Rockland County Pride Center. Diana believes in providing the best possible services, resources and programming for her LGBT Community, ensuring that everyone is treated equitable and with affirmation and authenticity. During her time at the Rockland County Pride Center, Diana has developed programs, support groups, expanded services and trainings and assisted in developing and bringing to fruition Rockland County’s first LGBTQ+ Center. During Diana’s professional career, she has worked tirelessly for LGBTQ+ rights, organizing for marriage equality on a grassroots level, and providing service and programs to all community members. Diana attended the College of New Rochelle where she studied English and Journalism and has her Master of Arts in Literature from Queens College and her Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Lesley University.

Loren Klein is the Coordinator of Transgender and Non-Binary Services for the Rockland County Pride Center. He supports community members in navigating healthcare and accessing social services, educates professionals on LGBTQ+ issues, and plans community events that celebrate the joy and resilience of Transgender and Non-Binary communities.
