Stonewall: Activism, Identity and Community
with Christopher Gioia, creator of stonewallhistory.us
Presented by Westchester Community College
Tuesday, September 25th - 11:30am-1:00pm
The Stonewall Uprising or Rebellion is considered by many to be the spark that ignited the LGBT rights movement.
This presentation utilizes documentary film, online resources and archival documents to chart the development of the LGBT community and the symbolic role that the Stonewall played in garnering mainstream support for equal rights.
Participants will have a chance to discuss what Stonewall means to them and tell their stories of gay liberation or coming out, with an option to have their stories included in an oral history database.
