Christina Picciano

Christina Picciano (she/her) is a queer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and is thrilled for the opportunity to devote herself to her two greatest passions in life, music and LGBTQ+ advocacy. She works with The LOFT to use music and advocacy to empower the community and address social justice issues.  Connecting, uplifting and advocating for the local LGBTQ+ community while also providing accessibility has been the mission of her work. Merging performance, activism, and free events for the community, Christina has also volunteered her time, working together with municipalities, local businesses, and grassroots organizations to promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity within her hometown. In 2021 she was a recipient of the New York State Senate SD 38 LGBTQ Hero award.

Prior to working with The LOFT, Christina freelanced as an audio engineer in music and voiceover narration with a specialty in audio-book editing. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Studio Production from The Music Conservatory at SUNY Purchase

Christina likes to spend her free time in the garden (growing garlic is her favorite), watching the sunset over the waterfront with her wife and two dogs, riding her bicycle, and playing in her punk rock band.

Christina is a recipient of the Artist Employment Program (AEP) grant from Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) to learn more, click here.
