Cynthia B. Knox is Executive Director of CHOP ( Caring for the Homeless and Hungry of Peekskill), a nonprofit organization providing shelter, food, and support services to homeless individuals, including veterans, and a food program for low-income families. Cynthia is the former Chief Operating Officer of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. Prior to that, Cynthia lead programs in NYC providing legal services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
Cynthia is passionate about the vital leadership role of the Loft in providing education, advocacy and events for our community in Westchester County and the surrounding areas. Cynthia is excited to be able to use her skills as a member of the LGBT community, and as a lawyer, to ensure that the LGBT community is accorded full and fair treatment, and access to jobs, homes, family, education, and safety.
Cynthia received her J.D. from CUNY Law School, one of the first public interest law schools in the nation, and her B.A. From Sarah Lawrence College.
Cynthia lives in Northern Westchester County with her spouse, Carla Rae Johnson, an artist, an energetic Golden Retriever, and a Maine Coon cat.
