Scott Havelka

Scott Havelka (he/him/his) was named the center's Chief Compliance & Contracts Officer in 2024, and has been a part of the staff since November 2005.  His previous positions at The LOFT were: Intern (2004-05), Program Manager (2005-07), Interim Executive Director (2008) Director of Programs & Services (2009-2020) Deputy Director (2021-23). Scott is The LOFT's network representative to the NYS LGBT Health & Human Services Network. He is constantly inspired by the resilience, strength and fabulousness of the LGBTQ+ community and works towards its liberation.

Prior to joining The LOFT team, Scott worked at Community Outreach and Resources (COAR) at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.  He completed a year-long study abroad program in London with the International Partnership for Service Learning.  His service placement was at Linden Lodge, a school for visually impaired youth.  Scott holds a  B.A. in Liberal Studies (2008) from SUNY Purchase.

Outside of the center, Scott has an eclectic mix of hobbies including having space in the antique & vintage shop Suburban Renewal in Hastings-On-Hudson, NY. He resides in White Plains with his adopted houseplants Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia.
