Vincent Fields

Vincent Fields is a Westchester native and was born in New Rochelle Hospital on June 21st 1990. The eldest child of Mount Vernon natives Roy and Dawn Fields. The family moved to White Plains when Vincent entered 2nd grade. Vincent and his younger siblings Brittney and Brandon quickly adjusted to their new home, becoming active in sports as well as in the local youth bureau. Vincent graduated from White Plains High School in 2008. He graduated with a degree in Demography and Business Practice from CUNY Lehman where at the time he wanted to start a career in Marketing. However, as life goes things change, after working for a year in insurance completely unfilled by his work Vincent decided to volunteer with a local Assemblymember Shelley B. Mayer.  After a year of consent door, knocking and canvassing his hard work blessed him with a full time position in the Assemblymember’s office.

Under Mayer’s mentorship, Vincent wasted no time diving headfirst into local political circles. First being the Westchester Young Democrats where he is currently the President. Wanting to push what was possible he became the groups LGBT+ Caucus Chair and organized the first ever event of its kind a Drag Show Fundraiser celebration of pride. The event was a hit and it pushed his peers to organize their own events based on issues they felt were important. Under his leadership, the Westchester Young Dems hosted a river clean up, campaign strategy trainings, as well a panel comprising of local African American elected officials under the age of 35.

Outside of the Young Democrats, Vincent is also a founding board member of the Hudson Valley Stonewall Democrats. A group committed to champing pro-LGBT issues within the Democratic Party. He formally served as an advisor on the LGBT advisory committee to County Executive George Latimer. Currently he works for now Senator Shelley Mayer as her District Director. He plans to make his second year as President of the Young Dems to have even more impact.

Vince joined the board of The LOFT in 2018.
