Active Allyship to Support TGNCNB Folks


Workshop Description: Join the people who run the Pace University LGBTQA Centers to learn ways to enact accountability to their TGNCNB community (and its individuals). Explore models of allyship as an action for you as a professional and as an individual.


Workshop Format: Discussion/active participation during this workshop is encouraged. We will start with defining goals for each participant around serving TGNCNB folks and move into best practices.


Bios:

Emmett Griffith (he/him) is a trans educator, speaker, and advocate. He is the Associate Director of Pace University's LGBTQA Center on the NYC campus where he oversees LGBTQ+ training, events, programming, and support services. Emmett received his M.A. in Higher Education & Student Affairs from NYU and holds a double B.A. in Integrated Educational Studies and English Literature from Chapman University.
 
Rachel Simon (she/they) is the Interim Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and LGBTQA Center at Pace University where she's also an Associate Adjunct Professor of Women's and Gender Studies. Simon also serves on the Westchester County LGBTQ Advisory Board and is the Vice President of the Board of PrideWorks for Youth.
