    The Memorial Gift Shop is a thrift store co-run by The LOFT and MUMC.

    The shop is open Monday Thursday from 10am to 2pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. The shop is closed on Sundays.

    Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

    Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an open and supportive group of people seeking to handle and recover from their problematic drinking.

    AA meets weekly on Saturday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

    Gaymes Night

    The LOFT's Gaymes Night is a social evening of board games and cards.  Typically 2-3 games are being played at once, all in the spirit of friendly competition.  No gambling or betting.  Attendees bring new and old games to try or select from the center's extensive game selection.

    Gaymes Night meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of every month at 7:00pm.

    Attendees are encouraged to brings snacks and beverages to share and the group leaders order pizza for anyone interested (only $2.50 per slice).

    LOFT Social Groups are open groups which welcome everyone ages 18 and over. Groups are led by members of the LGBT and allied communities. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend.

    Donations are welcome. Suggested donation is $5; more if you can, less if you can't. Fees related to activities are the responsibility of participants.

    CANCELLED The Rainbow Clubhouse

    The Rainbow Clubhouse is a new group at The LOFT for families of young, gender expansive children up to age 12. The group features a support group for parents/guardians, and a structured play group for children.

    The Rainbow Clubhouse will not meet in August. We will return for our normally-scheduled September meeting!

    The Rainbow Clubhouse meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 1:00pm-3:00pm. The first half hour is reserved for new family orientation to meet with LOFT staff and discuss the group dynamics before returning families arrive. Group is held from 1:30pm-2:30pm for all new and returning families. Siblings of your gender expansive child are also allowed to attend the children's play group. Infants must remain with their parents at all times.

    Please note new families arrive at 1:00pm, returning families arrive any time between 1-1:30pm


    Please Note: In an effort to maintain the privacy of our children and protect our families,
    The LOFT has developed an intake process for new families joining this group.

    This form is required in order for families to attend the group. Click here to access it.

    The location of The Rainbow Clubhouse will be shared with families who complete the intake.



    Group Format

    The Rainbow Clubhouse is a safe-space support group for families of gender-expansive children, up to age 12, and will feature two side-by-side groups.

    • Playgroup for youth up to age 12:
      • The Playgroup is a safe social space for children to play, interact with peers and be themselves. Discussions within the playgroup are not solely focused on topics such as gender, feelings or bullying. Instead, playgroup participants are given the safe environment to develop friendships through common playtime activities.
      • The Playgroup is overseen by a professional with 20+ years of childcare experience, and an additional, experienced adult.
    • Parent/Guardian group:
      • The Parent/Guardian group features a unique opportunity for families to gain support and connection to others with similar experiences. Some topics that may be discussed in this group include: talking to extended family, navigating school systems, and finding affirming professionals/resources.
      • The Parent/Guardian group is facilitated by a LOFT staff member with experience working with families of trans youth. Meetings may also feature guest speakers and reading lists of gender-affirming books for adults & youth.


    Definitions

    Gender-Expansive can be defined as: An adjective used to describe people that identify or express themselves in ways that broaden the culturally defined behavior or expression associated with one gender. -According to Welcoming Schools: A program of the Human Rights Campaign


    The meeting space is a nut-free facility.

    Participation in this group is free, donations are welcome.

    Transgender Peer Support Group

    The Transgender Peer Support Group is an open topic group run by a trained facilitator for individuals who identify as transgender, transsexual, cross-dresser, gender variant, gender queer or intersex (18 and older). Partners of transgender group participants are also welcome.

    This group takes place the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, and the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month from 5:30pm to 7:00

    Knitting Circle

    The LGBT Knitting Circle open to all experience levels- from beginner to pro. Knitting is a great way to relieve stress, challenge yourself to learn something new, make gifts for friends and family, and spend some time meeting other creative people like yourself!

    The LGBT Knitting Circle meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

    Materials Provided. However, group members are encouraged to bring their own.

    Free HIV/STI Testing Provided By HVCS

    Free HIV/STI Testing is provided through a collaboration with Hudson Valley Community Services (HVCS) on a monthly basis at The LOFT.

    Includes testing for Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis.

    Free HIV/STI Testing is conducted at The LOFT every 3rd Tuesday of month from 5:00pm-8:00pm (with the last test taken at 7:30 pm). Testing is fast, free, and discreet.
