Among these concepts are the observations that society believes queerness to be "unnatural" even though many parts of nature are queer and that injustices against nature and injustices against LGBTQ+ people have overlapping causes and solutions.

Sphynxx, our Creatives Rebuild New York Artist in Residence, will facilitate a virtual discussion with guest speakers who know Sustainability, Environmental Justice, Biotechnology, and trending Policies / Regulations concerning climate change. The group will continue to share information and connect using the messaging app Slack.

    The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center

    (IP): Rainbow Squad

This group is run by Center Lane:

Rainbow Squad is an LGBTQ+ friendly youth group for grades 3-6 that creates a safe space for kids ready to explore LGBTQ+ concepts and make friends!

Together we learn about self-acceptance, healthy boundaries, LGBTQ+ history and culture, and explore gender roles and identities supported by caring, trained adults. Groups are run by Center Lane’s facilitators committed to serving LGBTQ+ youth through fun, interactive, and educational programming. Participants will get to talk with peers and staff about issues that are important to them. Peer support and interaction are key to a young person’s development and especially crucial for LGBTQ+ youth who, despite the efforts of family and school staff, may still feel misunderstood or isolated at home, at school, and within their communities.

WHEN: The 2nd Monday of the month from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Meetings occur in tandem with PFLAG meetings (which parents are encouraged to join).
