On Tuesday, August 7th, neighborhoods in White Plains are invited to join communities nationwide for the "34th Annual Night Out". This will be the 8th year the White Plains Police Department is participating in this unique program.
National Night Out is designed to 1) heighten crime & drug prevention 2) generate support for, and participation in, local crime efforts 3) strengthen neighborhood spirit & police-community partnerships and 4) send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!
The LOFT LGBT Community Center will be tabling at this event!
From 6 to 9PM on August 7th, residents throughout White Plains are asked to lock their doors and turn on outside lights. Spend the evening outside with neighbors and join forces at the White Plains Public Safety Headquarters at 77 South Lexington Avenue. Celebrate "National Night Out" with an open house at the White Plains Public Safety Department with a street fair with a live band and tables manned by Community Service Organizations. There will be free give aways, visits from elected officials and representatives from the NY State Police, Westchester County Police and the White Plains Department of Public Safety (Police & Fire Bureau). You are always welcome to drop off any expired or unwanted prescriptions at the drug collection box located at Police Headquarters.
