NY Dept of Health: Town Hall on Monkeypox

Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5:30PM-6:30PM

The New York State Department of Health and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will host a virtual town hall to provide a situational update on the evolving monkeypox outbreak in New York City and New York State. To date, most diagnoses have been among men who identify as gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men. Engagement with the affected community is key to an effective response.

New York State and New York City health officials are eager to engage directly in dialogue with organizations, representatives, and advocates from New York’s LGBTQ+ community about the current outbreak as well as our response; to address outstanding questions; to share existing resources; and to gather feedback which will continue to inform our response.

We invite you to join New York State Health Commissioner Mary Bassett, M.D., M.P.H., and New York City Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan, M.D., Ph.D., as we discuss this evolving monkeypox outbreak affecting New Yorkers as well as the NYS/NYC response.

Questions can be submitted ahead of time by emailing [email protected].
