The Intersex Pride Flag was created in 2013 by Morgan Carpenter, co-chair of Intersex Human Rights Australia. Intersex individuals are born with a range of variations in their sex traits and reproductive anatomy. Each person's experience is unique, as there is no singular way to be intersex. Carpenter selected yellow and purple as the flag's colors, which are considered gender-neutral tones.
