Advocacy Marches in January 2017

The LOFT wants you to know about upcoming advocacy events happening in January 2017 both in NYC and Washington, D.C.

The LOFT wants you to know about a couple of great advocacy events happening in January 2017.  These events are not hosted or sponsored by The LOFT, but we wanted to make our members aware of them!

Saturday, January 14th: “We Shall Not Be Moved” March to the Dr. MLK Memorial in downtown Washington, DC, Organized by the National Action Network: http://nationalactionnetwork.net/the-march-january-12th-2016-washington-dc/

WESPAC, a civil rights organization based out of White Plains, has reserved a 54-passenger coach bus.  WESPAC is taking reservations at this time on a first come first serve basis via secure payments online: https://wespac.org/donate/

Please type “bus ticket January 14th” in the comment section of your payment. Bus seats are $40 per person and $25 for students/fixed income round trip, but nobody will be turned away due to inability to pay. WESPAC is committed to offering subsidies and appreciates any financial support that will help to meet this commitment.  Please contact Emma at 914.376.8956 to verify availability, or for any other questions regarding this trip.  Youth are especially encouraged to participate (with a chaperone, if under 18).
