Where did you grow up / where do you live now?

Leon grew up in The Bronx, NY. He recently moved to White Plains

Leon’s Hobbies?

Leon enjoys staying active through exercising. He likes watching sports, and tuning in to talk shows about sports! He’ll often check out crazy diner spots to try out for himself – like Mt. Kisco Coach Diner. 

Why volunteer at The LOFT?

Leon was interested in becoming better acquainted with all the different LGBTQ+ identities through volunteering here. When he is working in his field and speaking with patients, he is now more confident in his ability to be sensitive to others.

Volunteering Experience with The LOFT:

Though he has been volunteering for about 3 months, Leon has dedicated time around his studies to fulfill the need of gaining experience working among LGBTQ+ individuals.
Leon enjoys the relaxed environment of The LOFT. He said, “I have seen certain staff members at events, so it feels good to be a part of the team. Every day at the LOFT provides a different experience.” 
Volunteering with The LOFT is inspiring to Leon, because it has helped him learn and practice networking in ways that he can utilize in his career.

Would he rather go on vacation in the mountains or near a beach?

Fun fact! – Leon does not like beaches because of the sand. The mountains are for him to hike and explore.
