Virtual: LGBTQ+ Survivor Support Group

The LGBTQ+ Survivor Support Group is a closed meeting space for LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual abuse to process experiences, develop coping skills, and strengthen feelings of resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Meetings are held weekly on Zoom every Saturday for 8 weeks, and are open to any LGBTQ+ survivor of sexual abuse, ages 18 and older, whether the abuse occurred in childhood or adulthood. An intake and screening is required to participate. This is a CLOSED meeting, pre-registration is required.

This Support Group is co-organized by The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center and WestCOP- Victims Assistance Services (VAS), and is co-facilitated by a VAS Clinician and LOFT LGBTQ+ Survivor Advocate.

To participate, all attendees must:

  • Be an LGBTQ+ survivor of sexual abuse, age 18 or older
  • Be a NYS resident
  • Be able to attend a minimum of 7 out of 8 group meetings (held on Zoom)
  • Complete an intake with VAS and The LOFT prior to participating in the group meetings

Delilah Coles

Delilah Coles is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Master of Arts degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College in NYC. Delilah has over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations including young adults, LGBTQ+, and working professionals. Delilah works with people struggling to navigate life transitions as well as various challenges related to anxiety, depression, family conflicts, self-esteem, and lack of motivation.

Delilah’s approach to treatment includes utilizing evidenced-based interventions and genuine care to provide strengths-based, client-centered, outcome-oriented service. Delilah uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and  Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to support clients as they work through barriers to productivity and wellness while developing productive strategies to change and grow.

Rowan, who also goes by Crow, is a neuro-queer, non-binary, trans educator, macro social worker, artist, poet, card reader, & gender support coach. Their mission is to (co)create transformative experiences which nurture individual healing & fuel collective liberation.  

Rowan is here for queer & trans joy, the power of pleasure, strategic rebellion, divergent-thinking, wisdom rooted in the body, mindful risk-taking, & care outside of institutions.  

Rowan’s is guided by harm-reduction and liberatory pedagogy, aiming to be trauma-informed, body and sex-positive, consent-focused, anti-racist, and continually learning.
