LOFT Center Closed on Friday July 8

It has been an incredible and amazing Pride Season! We are so grateful to the community for all the support, love, and connection that has happened since kicking off Pride! Today, Friday, July 8, we're taking a small break so that all of our staff can recharge their batteries.  Please note that The LOFT Center will be closed on Friday, July 8th, 2022.  Lunch with The LOFT is canceled and LSN is still meeting at the normal time. We will be returning to the center on Monday, July 11th, business as usual.

OUTSpoken: My First Time

Gary O'Brien's latest essay explores the very first time he summoned the courage to venture to Fire Island.  What would teenage Gary see and experience? What importance do our sacred LGBTQ+ spaces hold for each one of us as we sanctify our identities for the first time in the presence of others who are just like us? My First Time is a loving essay to the youth in each of us who brave forward to discovering who we are.

See The FAIR STREET USA EXHIBIT, view The LOFT's House!

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined the fun at the Fair Street USA Block Party exhibition! The exhibition/ art installation of houses is designed to inform and educate folx about the range of protections Fair Housing Laws provide against different types of discrimination. The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center was proud to represent the issues related to Sex and Gender. The exhibition has been moved inside White Plains Public Library and will be going on for the entire month of July. Go and see it, you will definitely learn things you didn't know!
