Silver Connections' Lunch & Learn meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to LGBTQ+ community members ages 55+. The LOFT provides lunch and a featured community presenter to lead discussions about varying topics relevant to the community.

Join us for October's Silver Connections Lunch & Learn, where we’ll explore essential pedestrian safety tips specifically designed for older adults. Whether walking for exercise or running errands, this session will equip you with the tools you need to stay aware, safe, and confident while walking in your community.
What We’ll Cover:
Changing Abilities
As we age, changes in vision, fitness, and reaction time are natural. Learn how these changes impact your walking safety and the adjustments you can make to stay safe.
Defensive Walking
Master the principles of defensive walking. Learn how to remain alert and prepared for various pedestrian situations, protecting yourself from potential dangers while walking near traffic.
Be Aware of Risky Situations
Identify high-risk pedestrian situations and learn how to navigate them safely. We'll discuss tips for staying safe in tricky or unexpected moments.
Creative Visibility
Discover practical strategies to ensure you are clearly visible to drivers, even in low-visibility conditions or high-traffic areas.
