Dear LOFT Community,

By now, many of you have heard the news that a few days ago our County Executive, George Latimer declared a State of Emergency in Westchester, The Omicron strain of COVID-19 has made its way to our area, and as you may also know, it is considered to be highly contagious.

County Executive Latimer has asked all of us to do our part in blunting the spread of this virus. So, it's with great disappointment to share with you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Holiday Party Week (M-F, Dec 13-17).

We were looking forward to connecting and celebrating with you in person, but everyone's safety must come first.

In addition to the Holiday Parties, we are also canceling our in-person Silver Connections events: Unity Table and Lunch & Learn for December. We want everyone to stay healthy and protected, especially our elders who are highly vulnerable to COVID.

Please also note, much of our virtual programming is still in place and a safe way to connect with friends and your community. For those who are interested, we will be having a virtual Holiday Gathering on Wednesday, December 15th from 6:00-7:00 PM. The LOFT's entire staff, including our two new members, will be there along with many of The LOFT Board members. We'd love to see you and hope you can join us then!

We're hoping this is a small bump in the road and with vaccinations, boosters, and responsible distancing and masking, we will weather this COVID storm much sooner than later, and will soon be back together. Until then, please stay safe, get vaccinated, get boosted, and have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.
