Lloyd Mascarenhas joined the LOFT Board in 2018. He currently works as a Cyber Security Architect/Engineer at IBM. Lloyd developed an interest in helping people in the LGBT community at an early age. He received an award from Lions Club of Margao (India) for his entry in a poster competition; the goal of which was to help educate the community about safer sex practices and create awareness about HIV/AIDS. He was also a youth president at his parish where he was responsible for raising money for youth activities.
Lloyd received his bachelor's degree in 2006 from IIAS School of Management and Industrial Management. He moved to New York, from India, soon afterwards and started managing restaurants. Lloyd felt that as LGBTQ immigrant himself he is well aware of the issues and problems that other fellow LGBTQ immigrants face and wanted to give back to the LGBTQ community.
Lloyd received a Master's degree in Information Systems from Pace University in 2014. Prior to joining The LOFT Board, Lloyd was also a volunteer mentor at Newburgh High School through a program called PTECH. PTECH was a program created through a partnership with New York State and IBM.
Apart from Lloyd's academic and professional background, he is also an artist. He recently had a successful solo show in Tuckahoe, NY and was featured on a local patch newspaper. Lloyd enjoys quiet time at home with his husband and two puppies, Bouncer & Brucelee.
