Message from Executive Director, Judy Troilo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 8, 2021

(White Plains, NY)

Dear LOFT Family,

As we near the closing of 2021 I have some exciting updates to share with you.

This year has been a wild ride for all of us and we hope you're doing well. Since the pandemic started, The LOFT has risen to meet a host of new challenges while also growing in the process. We are effectively reaching thousands of people on a monthly basis through our physical and digital campuses. All of this growth has been made possible through your support and our outstanding staff. Our wonderful staff is the heart of our community center.

Our expansion has also meant restructuring to ensure that we are effectively meeting the community's needs. We have added two positions and are in the process of hiring a new Program Manager and we have recently hired Stephen McMahon as our Community Engagement Coordinator. These two additions to our programming staff will ensure that we continue to maintain the variety of in-person and digital programming that has been helping thousands of people locally, nationally, and even internationally.

As you already know, earlier this year we strengthened our leadership team. We announced the promotions of Scott Havelka to Deputy Director and Shepard Verbas to Director of Programs and Services. Now, I'm also happy to announce the promotion of Jeffrey Guard to Director of Marketing and Communications. In this role, Jeffrey will continue to manage our communications platform while also managing our business development. We are looking forward to the future and know our partnerships are an important and effective way to strengthen our community.

I’m honored to lead such an exceptional team and know that the work we are doing together, with your help, will continue to have a profound impact on our community.

As we get back to more in-person programming, we hope that you'll be able to join us. We're currently planning a week of in-person celebrations for December. It's going to be a fun and festive way to connect and reconnect with friends.

We are also looking forward to hosting the 6th Annual Hudson Valley Trans Forum (virtual) in January and of course, The LOFT Gala is rescheduled for March. The Gala will be in person and we're hoping to see you there.

So, stay tuned. In the next few weeks, you'll see more information about these events and more. It's my hope that as we draw closer to the new year, we will be able to collectively turn the page on this pandemic and begin a new, brighter chapter together.

Yours in Pride,

Judy Troilo
