The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center invites you to attend a press conference we are having on June 22nd-Wednesday at 2:30 pm at The LOFT Campus (252 Bryant Avenue, White Plains, NY) with Westchester County Executive George Latimer, White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach, our Executive Director, Judy Troilo, Westchester LGBTQ+ Advisory Member Michael Sabatino and other distinguished guests who will be making a groundbreaking announcement regarding an LGBTQ+ friendly senior housing development, the first in Westchester. There's also more good news!
You will not want to miss it! We will also be having lite refreshments served at the event. We hope to see you there! RSVP is not necessary but greatly appreciated.

LGBTQ+ Art Exhibition
The LOFT in partnership with Upstream Gallery is proud to present our new Juried Show: Queer Perspectives: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Life, opening Thursday, June 23rd-July 17th, followed by our annual Works on Paper Show. Upstream Gallery's juried exhibits have grown to attract artists from around the region, the country, and around the world.
Opens: Thursday, June 23
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 25th, 5-8 pm

Build A New Fashion Wardrobe
Join us at Thrift 2 Fight's new store in Tivoli, NY for a trans clothing swap! As trans folx, building a new wardrobe can be daunting. This event offers you a chance to get rid of your old clothes and exchange them for new, gender-affirming ones. Designers Sergio Guadarrama and Kade Johnson will be available to offer styling advice and tips on how to craft your new look.

"Reconciling" Conflicting Perspectives on Juneteenth: Galveston, Texas 1865

Aziza Baker (they/them) will be providing primary sources in a seminar presentation that allows participants to understand what Juneteenth meant in 1865 to recently freed Africans, slave owners, the US government, and Black activists. Participants will be asked to think about the ways in which the perspectives of 1865 relate to how Juneteenth is understood by folx today.

We will be walking several miles through Van Cortlandt Park and will end up at the Identity Bar, the only gay bar in the Bronx! The bar has graciously offered us free appetizers!
